I like to light my cigars with a tri-flame Xikar but only because it has a hot enough flame to “Crisp” the foot. Then you proceed to slowly draw on your cigar, never “hot-boxing”it. Gently, smoothly, like caressing a womans cheek. Take your time, slowly my friend. If you can partner it with? a good Single Malt Scotch or a Tawny Port for over an hour, than you’ve had an experience my friend………..PS I have the whole collection of “Betty Page” Zippo Lighters. I have lit my cigars with a zippo and a xikar. I have the executive like you. and I did not have any taste from the? fluid I actually think I lit my stick faster with my zippo than my xikar because you have a flame instead of a direct jet. I think if some one says they had a nasty taste from a zippo they probably stayed in one position of the cigar longer when lighting it. I like both ways.

Everyone knows you? use a wood match to light a cigar. Torches burn the tobacco to a crisp too fast and zippos are nice but not prefered.
