If you must light a smoke with a Zippo let the flame burn for about ten seconds before you? take it to your stick or pipe. The fuel flavor burns off right way and the flame tastes much cleaner.
Oh ya it affects the flavor, it’s subtle but when you notice it it’s a terrible effect. A hickory match will give the cigar an extra pleasant woody flavor, the same way barbequing? meat affects it’s flavor. With that said I use my zippo to light cigars all the time (unless I pick up a real nice one) because I can’t be bothered to constantly buy matches =(
Dude, just get Zippo Blu, the butane version. Jet flamed with a huge fuel tank and a flint ignition system so it still comes with a lifetime guarantee. I think to a cigarette smoker it doesn’t matter what you? light a cigar with, Zippo users like that first couple of petrol flavoured puffs. A man who only smokes cigars does so for the taste so maybe it’s better without the Zippo for him, not sure about the jet flame though, too harsh. I think cigars are best lit with a match.

Everyone knows you use a wood match to light a cigar. Torches burn the tobacco to a crisp too fast? and zippos are nice but not prefered.

Lit one with a lighter fluid zippo. ? Taste for the 1st 10 minutes was unbearable. Tasted like gasoline.

Using a zippo on a cigar is just fine. It’ll only affect the taste for a minute or two.?
